Agradecer a Jose María, vecino de Igueste de San Andrés, su colaboración e interés siempre por las iniciativas de los iguesteros con el principal objetivo de que este maravilloso Rincón de Anaga siga creciendo y siendo conocido por todos quienes se acercan o muestran interés por conocer todos sus encantos.

SURF Y BODYBOARD EN IGUESTE

Desde finales de los años 80 se vienen practicando estos deportes en Igueste, sobre todo el surf.

Al principio, pocos eran los locales que se adentraban a pillar la increíble y majestuosa izquierda iguestera ya fuese bajo el cementerio, el cabezo o el medio, ya que la economía no daba para poseer material bueno para su práctica.

Fue sobre 1990 aproximadamente cuando hubo un auge en este deporte ya que gran cantidad de jóvenes locales practicaban body board, siendo con el futbol el deporte más popular de ese entonces.

Hoy por hoy existe un numeroso grupo de iguesteros locales de la ola, no tan numeroso como antaño pero si con una buena calidad en sus maniobras y desplazamiento en la ola.

Cabe destacar que la ola de Igueste es una de las mejores de izquierda de Tenerife y se podría decir que también de Canarias, rompiendo sobre un fondo de piedras y en algún tramo, y según la época del año, sobre arena (menos frecuente). Es una ola con fuerza y hueca no siendo una apta para principiantes.

Destacar el localismo que tiene asociado esta ola, donde los riders del pueblo poseen privilegio sobre ella pese a quien le pese.

En resumen, es una ola de gran nivel, tanto así que en días buenos se masifica, y que es defendida por nos riders locales que están a su altura y que disfrutan de ella con sus buenas maniobras.

SURF-UND BODYBOARD IN IGUESTE

Seit den späten 80er Jahren kommen Igueste Üben dieser Sport, vor allem beim Surfen.

Anfangs gab es nur wenige lokale ragten die unglaubliche und majestätische iguestera links entweder unter dem Friedhof zu fangen, die Anhöhe oder die Umwelt und die Wirtschaft nicht für gutes Material für die eigene Praxis zu ermöglichen.

Es war etwa 1990, als es einen Boom in den Sport so viele lokale Jugend praktiziert Body Board, mit dem Fußball ist die beliebteste Sportart der Zeit.
