TUNERA-PRICKLY PEAR-FEIGENKAKTUS

La tunera es una especie introducida en las islas de aspecto carnoso y espinoso, formada por tallos aplanados, grandes, de distintas tonalidades de verde y con areolas prominentes. La coloración y tamaño de sus espinas depende de la especie, siendo por lo común pequeñas y blanquecinas, salvo en la tunera salvaje en la que son bastante largas y amarillas. 

Son cuatro las especies que nos podemos encontrar en Anaga en mayor o menor medida: la tunera común, la tunera salvaje, bruja o india, la tunera de terciopelo  y la tunera robusta.

Las tuneras tienen un alto potencial invasor, pueden vivir en una gran cantidad de condiciones y tienen una alta capacidad reproductiva. De esta manera, además de por sus numerosas semillas de sus frutos, las tuneras tienen la virtud de “pegar de gajo”, es decir, que si un cladodio cae a tierra, crece, creando un nuevo ejemplar.

Antiguamente, en Igueste, al igual que en el resto del Archipiélago, se plantaba para cultivar en ella la cochinilla con fines industriales ya que eran utilizadas para teñir tejidos, y por tanto, resultaba una fuente de ingreso.

The prickly pear is an introduced species on the islands of succulent and thorny stems formed by flattened, large, and different shades of green with prominent areolas. The color and size of your bones depends on the species, being usually small, whitish, except the wild tunera which are quite long and yellow.

Four species that we can find in Anaga in varying degrees: the common prickly pear, the prickly pear wild witch or Indian, the prickly pear velvet and the prickly pear robust.

Its flowers are large, colorful and with different colors (yellow, orange, purple ...) and are present from late spring and summer, producing edible fleshy fruit called (by region) "higopico", "higo chumbo" or “tuno”. Igueste is most common in the first term.

The cactus have high invasive potential, can live in a lot of conditions and have a high reproductive capacity. Thus, in addition to its many fruit seeds, the cactus are under “paste slice”, ie if a cladode falls to the ground, grow, creating a new copy.

Formerly in Igueste, like in the rest of the Archipelago, was planted to cultivate therein cochineal industrial purposes since they were used to dye textiles, and therefore was a source of income.

Der Las Tunas ist eine eingeführte Art auf den Inseln saftig und dornigen Stielen von abgeflachten, großen und verschiedenen Grüntönen mit prominenten areolas gebildet. Die Farbe und Größe der Knochen hängt von der Art, wobei in der Regel klein, weißlich, mit Ausnahme der wilden Tunera die ziemlich lang und gelb sind.

hem Maße finden: die gemeinsame Feigenkaktus, die Kaktusfeige wilde Hexe oder Indian, Las Tunas Las Tunas Samt und robust.

Die Blüten sind groß, bunt und mit verschiedenen Farben (gelb, orange, lila ...) und sind vom späten Frühjahr und Sommer, Herstellung von essbaren fleischige Frucht namens (nach Region) "higopico", "Feigenkaktus" vorhanden oder Schlingel. Igueste ist am häufigsten in der ersten Amtszeit.

Der Kaktus haben eine hohe invasive Potential, in einer Menge von Bedingungen leben und haben einen hohen Fortpflanzungsfähigkeit. So, zusätzlich zu seinen vielen Früchten Samen, sind die Kakteen unter "Einfügen Scheibe", dh wenn ein Kladodien fällt auf den Boden, wachsen, schaffen eine neue Kopie.

Früher in Igueste, wie im Rest des Archipels, gepflanzt wurde darin Cochenille industrielle Zwecke zu kultivieren, da sie zum Färben von Textilien verwendet wurden, und deshalb war eine Quelle des Einkommens.
